This is 26!
This year, I’m challenging myself to document each day of my life as a 26-year-old. The goal is to use social media honestly & intentionally, and I hope it encourages you to do the same.
Being a part of a generation that desires purpose and meaningful connections, it can be hard to find yourself and your people amid all the unspoken rules of the social media culture. In the era of social media, it’s challenging to find something genuine. You never know if an interaction is authentic or if you’re just scratching someone’s itch for social media engagement.
Through this project, I’m choosing to break away from the unspoken rule that everything has to be aesthetic + perfectly curated, and just letting my life be expressed the way that’s most genuine to me. Every bible study isn’t aesthetic, my hair might be a mess, my bedroom won’t be eerily clean, and I’m not walking on clouds with Jesus 24/7… and that’s okay.
This is real life.
By documenting my life organically and creatively, I hope to inspire those around me to do the same. This isn’t “romanticizing" my life or becoming the “director” of it, but rather just choosing to delight in my day-to-day. Some days will be more entertaining and joyful than others, but that’s okay. Don’t look to society for a limited purpose and shallow connections, but to look to the One who created you with a purpose and teaches us how to truly do life with “one another.” Here’s to a new year!
